The city of Slidell, located in the tranquility of the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, is one of Louisiana's fastest growing communities. It is ideally situated at the intersection of Interstates 10, 12, and 59. Although only a short drive from the famous attractions of New Orleans, Slidell has a character and appeal all of its own. There are many reasons for this city's popularity. Even though Slidell is located close to the French Quarter, the Superdome, the world-famous Mardi Gras celebrations, and all the other attractions of New Orleans, it still maintains its own identity. Thanks to Lake Pontchartrain, which separates these two cities, Slidell has escaped the problems which trouble many large metropolitan areas without being isolated from the world.
