The apartments continued to attract roaches and other insects and pest control only came every 3 months. I walked into my new apartment with a hole in the ceiling. A few light switches blew out after a couple of months living there. I had to call maintenance for something every month, literally. Even if you thoroughly clean out your apartment before you officially leave, you are still charged for apartment cleaning and carpet cleaning out of the deposit. Most apartments I have been to only uses deposits for damages. It's automatic that the apartment does a general cleaning for the next tenant and it doesn't come out of the deposit. And they were well managed. This apartment had a lot of problems. And Your deposit is not for damages, it is basically used for apartment cleaning for the next tenant.
